The Storm defeated the Panthers 41-30 on Saturday in a nonconference battle that was characterized by defense. "It's great for the kids and great for the program," said Summit coach Dan Munson, whose squad improved its record to 3-1 with the victory. "It was a real physical game, "Munson added. "Our game plan was to stop [Michael] Luenen. ...And we held him to three points." The Class 5A Storm held the Class 6A Panthers to seven or less points in three of the game's four quarters. Redmond ended the first period with just four points. Junior wing Matt Meagher paced the Summit offense with 10 points. Justin Huckins added 8 points for the Storm, and junior Clayton Cantrall and senior Micah King each contributed 6 points in the win. Redmond senior guard Kyle Baca led the Panthers (2-3) with 12 points. "The looks (Redmond) got, they usually would make," Munson said. "It just wasn't their night." |
